This is an affordable commemorative postcard of a baseball great with brief biographical information penned by nationally renowned author and sports commentator Bert Randolph Sugar. Each of these great cards pictures the game when it was still young, the T206 Wagner was scarcely known to exist, and Base Ball (two words) was America's National Pastime. Issued in 1978 by Dover Publications, at nearly three decades old, it is becoming a vintage collectible in its own right!
*Type 2 Postcard:
We have noticed that this card appears in two different "Types". We have designated Type 1 to indicate a postcard back without POSTCARD at the top and without the stamp block and lines in the addressee portion. Type 2 cards have these features, Type 1's do not.
