WORLD SERIES TEAM CHAMPIONS
FRAMED SILKSCREENED CARICATURES
COMMEMORATIVE MIRROR
This is a vintage hardwood framed mirror that commemorates the 1977 New York Yankees World Series Championship team. This fabulous original 1977 iconic piece features silkscreened caricatures of the entire team players, including Team Captain Thurman Munson, Manager Billy Martin, Coach Yogi Berra, Ron Guidry, Sweet Lou Piniella, Bucky Dent, Reggie Jackson, Catfish Hunter, Willie Randolph, Mickey Rivers, Goose Gossage,
Ron Blomberg (MLB's 1st Designated Hitter), just to name some of the outstanding players on that legendary team. Each caricature features the player's name on their baseball cap.
At the bottom is a great frosted glass banner that reads "Yankees 1977" with the Yankees logo on either end.
The mirror is in excellent condition.
Very well printed with strong images and absolutely no loss to the integrity of the images. (Please view photos).
The caricatures are believed to have been created by famed New York Daily News Caricaturist Bruce Stark, known for his Sports images.
That year in 1977, the team won the World Series, which was the 21st championship in franchise history and the first under the ownership of George Steinbrenner. The New York Yankees was managed by Billy Martin, and played at the original Yankee Stadium in The Bronx. The season was brought to life years later in the book and drama-documentary,
The Bronx is Burning.
In the frame the mirror measures approximately 20"x14" and is ready to hang on a wall.
