This is a very desirable and collectable PAL Spear Point Bladed Bayonet made in 1943 . It originally was a long bladed PAL Garand model and was shorten by Department of Defense directive  for WW11 use by the M! Garand Rifles. Some blades were shorten to spear points, other were shortened to  Bowie style point.  You can tell that the blade was shortened by seeing the Blood Groove extents to the end of the blade point.

THE converted GARAND BAYONETS WERE  Made IN SMALLER QUANTITIES AND ARE HIGHLY DESIRABLE.  THESE BAYONETS WERE USED BY US FORCES IN WW1, WW11 - KOREA AND IN LIMITED QUANTITES IN VIETNAM - THEN SUPPLIED TO OUR ALLIES AS LEND LEASE. THIS IS ONE SUCH SET - THAT WAS RE-IMPORTED TO THE US. Quite a History.
