This has been appraised as a coconut leaf stalk club. The piece is dated 1910-1920s era. It was used in the handcrafting of items of coconut leafs. The larger end helped tamp down the weaving and the pointed end pushed through the leaf. Coconut leaves were used in the roofs of their huts, made into baskets woven for food, various items where a strong waterproof textile was needed. They used the entire coconut tree for many things.
