  • Condition: These Riger reproductions were in The Equitable Life Assurance Society ad campaign in the 1960s. Great for framing. For those of you younger baseball fans, here is some info about one of baseball's greatest lefties to have ever pitched. He pitched for the Boston/Milwaukee (now Atlanta) Braves, N.Y. Mets & San Francisco Giants. His career was from 1942, 1946-1965. You will notice that he did not play in 1943-1945. During this time is was serving out country where he was awarded a purple heart for being wounded. He is in the HOF and was inducted in 1973. Some of his stats are a w-l record of 363-245, a 3.09 era and 2583 so's. He also hit 35 hrs during his career. AND, he was 17 time All-Star and the winner of the Cy Young award in 1957. He also had 2 no-nos.
