    Description

    WWI
    Model 1860 - 1906 Cavalry Officers Sword. The ricasso is marked "A.S. Co." (stands for Ames Sword Company of Chicopee) over a Flaming Bomb and over "1906", the reverse is marked "U.S." over "J-C". The pommel cap has a "C" on it. The iron guard is tight and has been painted bronze at some point. The grip is missing 45% of the leather. The twisted wire wrap is mostly gone, only a few strands are left
    . The blade is straight, unsharpened, the tip is sharp, a few nicks along the blade edge, and some age spots scattered throughout. The leather washer is
    intact. Length of the blade is 34 7/8" (1 1/16" wide and 5/16" thick), overall the sword is 40 5/8".
