WWI US Army AEF M1917 Remington Enfield M1897 Trench Shotgun Sword Bayonet CLEAN

Description

This WWI US Army AEF M1917 Remington Enfield Sword Bayonet is in excellent, clean condition and only shows modest signs of age and service. The ricassos on either side of the blade are nicely marked and the blade retains a clean edge. The point is strong but has the tiniest "burr" that is noticeable to touch but barely to the eye. The bluing is rich but does show expected signs of wear, but not abuse. The wooden grips appear to be free of cracks and have no discernable weak spots. Of particular note, there is a significant traces of OD Green paint found on the tang, pommel and both sides of the crossguard. This is a very curious feature and is almost indicative of Army service. This particular model bayonet is period correct for both the US M1917 rifle and the Winchester M1897 trench shotgun. Please examine the photographs carefully for the best description of condition.
